The Spanish Water dog pup should have its first clip at around 4 months old and then it should be clipped once a year thereafter. It should never ever be combed with a brush or comb but the cords should be split with your fingers please contact us for more advice, the coat should be cut to one length all over and not bathed too often in hot water. The coat will cord better the more the dog swims. The fur that grows in the ears should be plucked out frequently.
